TALLY, The 5 Foot Printer

When just over a cubic foot of print volume just isn't enough, attach the longest v slot rails and lead screw you can find.

We modified this Ender 3 Max to be able to print mold shells for our large diameter rocket nose cones. You could print an entire rocket on this if you wanted to.

Parts:

  1. Two 10x20x1500mm V-slot rails. Drill M5 holes as needed using the existing uprights as templates.

  2. One 8mm 1540mm long ACME lead screw

  3. Some stranded wire, solder, and heat shrink tube

It's really that simple.

Wire surgery to extend the X-axis and extruder cables.

Notes: 1. We upgraded to a 0.6mm nozzle for these large spiralized prints

2. We added the M211 command to our Cura profile to ignore the printer's native Z height restriction.

3. The rails and screw were ordered from: https://openbuildspartstore.com
